Grand Blue Season 4 was confirmed right after Season 3’s finale aired in Japan. Shinji Takamatsu is back as director, with production handled by ZERO‑G and Liber studios.
Season 2 returned more than six years after the finale of Season 1. The original voice cast—including Yuma Uchida (Iori Kitahara), Ryohei Kimura (Kohei Imamura), Chika Anzai (Chisa Kotegawa) and others—rejoined the series.
Shinji Takamatsu is back as director, scriptwriter, and sound director, while Hideoki Kusama handles character design alongside chief animation director Yoichi Ueda. The animation is produced by ZERO‑G and Liber, with Reiko Kasuga overseeing art direction and Yukari Hashimoto composing the music. Season 3 was green‑lit immediately after its finale and aired from July 6 to September 21, 2026.
Grand Blue Dreaming (commonly called Grand Blue) is a manga created by writer Kenji Inoue and illustrator Kimitake Yoshioka. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. The series was adapted into a TV anime by Zero‑G, which ran from July to September 2018, and later into a live‑action film released in August 2020.
Kodansha also publishes the manga in English. The story follows Iori Kitahara, who moves to a coastal town after graduating high school and starts working at his uncle’s dive shop. He quickly becomes immersed in scuba diving and the chaotic, alcohol‑filled college lifestyle, building a group of friends in a wild environment.
