PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – 240 becakman in Pangandaran are set to receive electric rickshaw aid from the government. Ahead of that, they will undergo initial training to operate the new mode of transport.
The training is carried out by the Pangandaran Department of Transportation (Dishub), which oversees transportation matters, with support from the DPRD.
Technically, the rickshaw drivers are instructed on lever operation, speed regulation, and braking systems. This includes battery management and charging procedures. Additionally, they receive guidance on recharging batteries (charging), battery maintenance, and estimating travel range.

Dishub also reinforces education on road markings, safe speed limits, and ethical driving practices within tourist zones.
The Deputy Chairperson of the Pangandaran DPRD, Dede Sutistwa Nata Atmaja, stated that at least 240 electric rickshaws are ready for distribution in Pangandaran. He clarified that the training aims to ensure all recipients can operate the electric rickshaws effectively.
“There are 240 units of rickshaw assistance provided by President Prabowo Subianto, and we have invited 240 rickshaw drivers to attend the training. This will ensure that during the handover ceremony, the electric rickshaws can be put into service without any issues,” he said on Thursday (17/9/2026).
He stated that the primary foundation actively distributing electric rickshaw aid across various Indonesian regions is the National Solidarity Movement Foundation (YGSN).
