PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih (KNMP) National Strategic Project, situated in Karangjaladri Village, Parigi District, remains non-operational at present. The village administration is still uncertain about the project’s implementation timeline within its jurisdiction.
Nevertheless, the initiative, funded by the 2025 State Budget with an approximate value of Rp10.6 billion, has not yet been transferred to either the Karangjaladri Village Government or the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP).
The employment contract concluded on 31 December 2025. Consequently, as of Tuesday, 15 September 2026, the project has faced a delay of approximately eight months.

Eris Darmawan, head of Karangjaladri village, indicated that up to now there has been no further coordination from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) or the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) regarding the handover and operation of KNMP. As a result, his side is unable to participate.
“No coordination from the KKP or PPK regarding the handover and management has occurred up to this moment,” he told reporters on Wednesday (16/9/2026).
Village authorities still lack clarity on whether the handover process will be carried out directly to the village government or to the KDMP.
In his view, there remains no certainty as to when KNMP will be inaugurated, handed over, or when the facilities will begin operation.
“Regarding the building, I believe it is already 99 percent usable. Except for the ice factory, machinery must be prepared because it needs to draw sea water directly. Therefore, additional work is required,” he clarified.
Previously, the village authorities also put forward a proposal for supplementary work to ensure that the KNMP facilities can truly function as intended. Nonetheless, the Karangjaladri Village Government is reluctant to accept the handover prematurely if any work remains unfinished.
Eris emphasized that the village must have a clear understanding of the work status and the handover news record prior to signing. “We also don’t want to be burdened after acceptance if there are still shortcomings. It truly must be 100 percent operational,” he asserted.

He stated that if all works have been declared complete, the village is, in principle, prepared to accept. However, before that, the documents and the handover news record must be reviewed first. (Deni Nurdiansah)
