The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 has unveiled a fresh batch of 11 character posters before its scheduled October 2, 2026 launch. These will herald the forthcoming film, slated to debut in Japan on December 11, crafted by author Natsu Hyuga. The second cour of Season 3 is set for April 2027.
Earlier, the series released a teaser trailer that showcased the opening theme “Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake” performed by Yorushika. Studio OLM returns for the animation work, whereas TOHO animation STUDIO does not appear among the credited staff.

Natsu Hyuga pens the The Apothecary Diaries light novel series, illustrated by Toko Shino, and it is serialized by Shunfunotomo. There are two manga adaptations: one scripted by Itsuki Nanao with art by Nekokurage, and another penned and illustrated by Minoji Kurata.
In English, J-Novel Club releases the novel, and Square Enix publishes the manga.
The narrative centers on Maomao, a young apothecary who is sold into the emperor’s palace as a low-ranking attendant. Being a nonconforming character, she ultimately aids Jinshi, the palace’s handsome official.
Recently, the franchise disclosed its inaugural live‑action series and its debut console game.
