PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The National Strategic Project (PSN) of Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih (KNMP) in Karangjaladri Village, Parigi District, Pangandaran Regency, has not been fully completed yet.

Amid several business units that have started operating, the issue of worker wages and well drilling services remains unresolved.

The project, which absorbed a 2025 state budget of Rp10.6 billion, has also not been fully handed over to the Karangjaladri Village Government (Pemdes) or the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP).

This condition raises questions about the completion of physical work and the fulfillment of the contractor’s obligations to the workers.

Because, facilities that are already in use should go hand in hand with settling the rights of the parties involved in its construction.

Karangjaladri Village Head Eris Darmawan said that the operation of KNMP facilities is carried out gradually.

The ice factory and restaurant have started operating, while the management of the cold storage facility is still in the maturation stage.

“The handover has not been 100 percent overall. However, management can be carried out gradually before the full handover,” said Eris on Thursday (22/10/2026).

According to him, several experts from the central government, including a financial manager and a processing manager, have been deployed to assist in the management of the area.

“In essence, KNMP is already running, but has not been fully handed over. If there are minor problems, they are still being handled by the management, namely KDMP,” he said.

Eris emphasized that the existence of KNMP cannot be separated from the role of the village government.

Because, the initial initiative for the development of the area originated from a village proposal utilizing village-owned land assets.

“Don’t make it seem like KNMP belongs only to KDMP. The first to propose was the village, using village land or assets,” he stressed.

He did not object if the KNMP buildings and facilities were later donated to KDMP.

However, according to him, supervision by the village government is still needed because the cooperative’s existence is within the village scope.

“If the building is indeed donated to KDMP, that’s not a problem. However, it should be emphasized that KDMP is under the auspices of the village, and the village acts as supervisor. If anything happens, the village remains jointly responsible,” he added.
