PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – Maintaining beach cleanliness cannot be achieved merely by relying on sanitation workers.

Collective awareness is the key to ensuring that the district’s flagship tourist area does not succumb to waste problems.

The message was reinforced by the Pangandaran Police Department through a clean‑up operation held in the Spectrum area of Pangandaran West Beach on Friday (23/10/2026).

After the morning briefing, all police personnel went directly to patrol the coastal area.

The activity, which took place from 07.00 to 08.15 WIB, was led by the Chief of Pangandaran Police, AKBP Ikrar Potawari, together with the main senior officers (PJU) and all members of the Pangandaran Police.

They worked together to clean up trash along the beachfront. This action reflects the police’s concern for environmental cleanliness and also serves as an effort to maintain the appeal of a tourist destination that is one of the region’s mainstays.

The Chief of Pangandaran Police, AKBP Ikrar Potawari, said that the police’s duties are not limited to security and public order.

Officers also need to be present through social activities whose benefits can be directly felt by the community.

“Our duty is not merely to protect and ensure public safety, but also to set a concrete example in caring for the environment and reviving the tradition of mutual cooperation,” he said.

He reminded that such social activities must be based on sincere intent and a sense of responsibility.

Immediately after its inauguration, Gekrafs of Tasikmalaya City showcased its performance through the creative industry sector and earned commendation from the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy; meanwhile, the blood supply at RSUD dr. Soekardjo received assistance, with hundreds of White Tiger soldiers taking action.

The safety of personnel while working in the coastal area must continue to be taken into account.

Ikrar hopes that the cleanliness and beauty of Pangandaran West Beach can be continuously maintained so that both tourists and local residents feel comfortable when carrying out activities in the area.

Nevertheless, maintaining a clean beach certainly cannot rely on a one‑off effort.

Consistency in waste management, visitor discipline, and the involvement of all parties constitute a joint task to ensure the beach is not overrun with garbage once the clean‑up activities have ended.

Because the beach, which is the region’s pride, must not only appear clean during the event but also be well‑maintained in everyday life.

Let the spirit of mutual cooperation not only surge when personnel are in the field, while the waste issue becomes a recurring task again. (deni nurdiansah)
