Dengeki Bunko, an imprint of Kadokawa, has announced that Kuji Furumiya’s romance light novel, Unnamed Memory –after the end- will conclude with its eighth volume. Kadokawa will release the final installment on December 17. In addition, the publisher plans a December launch for the Unnamed Memory Archives -chibi art works- artbook. Dengeki no Shin Bungei has serialized the novel since its debut on February 17, 2022.
This final novel serves as the sequel to Furumiya’s earlier work, Unnamed Memory.
Unnamed Memory follows Oscar Lyeth Increatos Loz Farsas and the sorceress Tinasha. Crowned prince of his realm, Oscar appears destined for greatness—until a devastating curse bars him from fathering children. If a woman bears his child, both she and the offspring perish. Undeterred, Oscar relentlessly pursues a remedy, eventually arriving at the tower of Tinasha, known as “The Witch of Azure Moon.”
Having overcome Tinasha’s tests and secured a private meeting, Oscar petitions her to break the curse. She declares it unattainable, yet offers a loophole: a spouse wielding sufficient magic would survive the curse. Oscar, acting decisively, proposes marriage to Tinasha.
Kuji Furumiya originally posted Unnamed Memory on the user‑generated site Shosetsuka ni Naro in September 2012. The work was later acquired by ASCII Media Works (now Kadokawa) and released through their Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint, illustrated by Chibi. The base series spans six volumes, published by Kadokawa from January 2019 to April 2021, with an additional “extra” volume appearing this year. The sequel, Unnamed Memory -after the end-, debuted in February 2022, also under Furumiya’s pen and Dengeki no Shin Bungei.
Studio ENGI adapted the source novel into a two‑season TV anime. Yoshiko Nakajima and Atsumi Tanezaki voice the principal characters, Oscar and Tinasha, respectively. The series streams on Crunchyroll.
