PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com—A truck carrying 3kg LPG cylinders crashed on Jalan Raya Cijulang, Pangandaran Regency, on Friday (14/8/2026). The deadly accident involved two other vehicles: an open‑bed truck and a Daihatsu Ayla.
The crash started when the LPG transport truck lost control while navigating a curve, ultimately hitting a Daihatsu Ayla and colliding with an open‑bed vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
The truck, which lost control and rolled over, spilled dozens, even hundreds, of 3kg LPG cylinders. Meanwhile, the Daihatsu Ayla and the open‑bed vehicle suffered dents on their front ends.

As a result of the accident, the LPG truck driver suffered critical injuries and was taken to a medical facility for treatment. However, the life of the man identified as Ucu Dian could not be saved; he died.
The incident was immediately reported to the Pangandaran Police’s Traffic Unit. Officers promptly arrived at the scene to carry out evacuation and investigation procedures.
Pangandaran Police Chief AKBP Ikrar Potawari, represented by Traffic Chief AKP Firman Hidayat, said the accident involved three vehicles. It is suspected that the incident began when the truck’s speed became uncontrolled while passing a curve.
“The truck experienced oversteer, causing it to crash into the vehicle in front of it,” he said.
The case is currently under investigation by the Pangandaran Police Traffic Unit. The authorities urge drivers to always prioritize safety during travel in order to minimize and prevent accidents. (Rangga Jatnika)
