Pasca Demo Warga, DLH Kabupaten Serang Mulai Uji Kualitas Udara Bojonegara-Pulo Ampel

Thecuy.com, Kabupaten Serang – The Serang Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) has launched air quality monitoring in the Bojonegara‑Pulo Ampel mining zone after a mass protest by local residents over the effects of mining truck traffic.

This testing follows a joint on‑site inspection carried out with the Banten Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Agency (ESDM) and the Serang Regency Public Order Agency. The head of the Serang Regency DLH, Sarudin, said the purpose of the air quality testing is to assess the pollution levels caused by mining activities in the area.

Upaya Pengendalian Polusi Debu

In addition to conducting air quality tests, the Serang Regency DLH has mandated that all mining firms in Bojonegara and Pulo Ampel districts carry out intensive watering of roads and mining sites. This measure is intended to curb dust pollution, especially during the dry season when airborne dust is likely to increase.

“Kami meminta dan mewajibkan pengusaha tambang melakukan penyiraman secara rutin di lokasi tambang maupun sepanjang jalur angkutan tambang untuk mengurangi dampak debu,” jelas Sarudin pada Kamis, 6 Agustus 2026.

Koordinasi dengan Instansi Terkait

The Serang Regency DLH has stepped up coordination with the Banten Provincial ESDM Office and the Provincial Environmental and Forestry Agency (DLHK) to decide on further actions concerning mining operations in the area. The ongoing air quality test results will serve as a basis for evaluation and subsequent decision‑making.

Air quality measurement is performed with an ambient air monitoring device that records data for 24 hours to ensure accuracy. In the initial phase, a one‑hour provisional measurement has been carried out, and the outcome is expected to be available next Monday.

Langkah Jika Kualitas Udara Tidak Memenuhi Standar

Sarudin stressed that if the test results indicate air quality below the established standards, the Serang Regency DLH will coordinate with the Banten Provincial Government, which holds authority over supervision and imposition of sanctions on violating mining companies.

“Jika kualitas udara kurang baik, kami akan berkoordinasi dengan Dinas ESDM Provinsi dan DLH Provinsi Banten karena kewenangan pengawasan dan sanksi ada di tingkat provinsi,” tegasnya.

Legalitas Perusahaan Tambang

Beyond air quality testing, the DLH team has reviewed the licensing documents of several mining companies in the region. According to data from the Banten Provincial ESDM Office, 51 mining firms in Bojonegara and Pulo Ampel districts hold valid operating permits.

“Kami mengambil sampel untuk memastikan aspek perizinannya dan seluruh 51 perusahaan tambang yang terdata sudah memiliki izin resmi,” pungkas Sarudin.

Air quality testing and monitoring of mining activities are crucial steps for protecting the environment and public health in the vicinity of the mining area. The local government is committed to addressing residents’ concerns and ensuring that industrial operations do not harm the environment or the community’s quality of life.
