My Hero Academia has unveiled “Hero too -10th Anniversary version,” performed by Eri on major streaming platforms following the premiere of the franchise’s new anniversary anime short, I am a hero too. Myka Morton provides the vocal track for Eri’s version used in the anniversary short.
The track made its debut in the roughly six‑minute episode, which started streaming worldwide on August 2 (August 3 in Japan). This short forms part of the series’ continuing 10th‑anniversary festivities and can now be viewed on several services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and others.
First introduced in the Pro Hero storyline, the song “Hero too” was originally sung by Kyoka Jiro at U.A. High School’s cultural festival. The fresh rendition now showcases Eri delivering the track after the main series concluded.
I am a hero too highlights Eri as she gets ready for a musical act and thinks back to her inspirations. Central to this are Deku and Lemillion, who were key in rescuing her from Overhaul and helping her pursue her aspirations.
This launch is part of My Hero Academia’s decade‑long anniversary push, encompassing fresh promotional art, live events, and the newly unveiled My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Shop: Top 10 Heroes, offering items inspired by Kohei Horikoshi’s “World Best Hero” fan poll graphic.
Kohei Horikoshi illustrated the My Hero Academia manga for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump spanning July 2014 to August 2024. After a ten‑year run, the series wrapped up the previous year, accompanied by many illustrations and farewell messages.
The television version debuted in April 2016 and has grown into one of today’s most beloved shonen series globally. Its final episode, Episode 170, aired on December 13, 2025.
Horikoshi is set to appear in the publication again with a brand‑new 61‑page horror short called Don’t Laugh, Shijima-san, his first standalone work since My Hero Academia ended. The story will be featured in the combined Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 37/38 slated for August 10.
