Thecuy.com, Tangerang – Scores of locals, who are the descendants of Sai bin Kawoek’s heirs, staged a protest outside the Metro Tangerang City Police headquarters on Friday (24/7/2026). They called on law‑enforcement officials to pursue six filed police reports concerning alleged group assault, intimidation, and illegal land seizure in the Kunciran Jaya district, Pinang sub‑district, Tangerang municipality.

Enam Laporan Tak Kunjung Diproses

Demonstrators said the rally was sparked by the sluggish legal proceedings, which have shown no progress over the past six months. Yet the complainants claim to have handed over several pieces of evidence, including forensic results and video recordings of the incident.

One of the heirs, Pandi, said his family has repeatedly fallen victim to alleged gangsterism and the destruction of their productive farmland. “There have been four violent incidents. My child was tortured, dragged, and kicked. His hands were scraped, all blue, and he has been examined medically. I beg the police to arrest those people, the gangsters,” Pandi told reporters at the Metro Tangerang City Police Station after the demonstration.

Aksi Dampingi Kuasa Hukum

During the protest, which was supported by legal counsel from the Jaringan Advokat Nusantara, participants displayed banners and posters detailing the six police report numbers they had filed. They questioned the police’s dedication to upholding the law, noting that alleged physical violence and gangsterism linked to a housing development project have directly endangered the heirs’ family members, including a woman reportedly abused.

The legal representative for the heir’s family, Erdi Surbakti, deplored the slow handling of the case. He asserted that evidence of alleged criminal conduct had been presented and that similar incidents had recurred. “First, there were six police reports concerning assault and vandalism that we filed with the Metro Tangerang City Police Station and the Pinang Police Station. Six months have passed, yet not a single individual suspected of involvement in the gangsterism in Tangerang City has been apprehended,” Erdi said.

Kaitan dengan Proyek Pengembang

Erdi claimed that the intimidation and violence endured by his client were believed to be tied to a developers’ project at the disputed site. Consequently, he urged the police to act decisively. “The police earlier expressed a commitment to resolve the reports within one to two weeks. Prior to that, if possible, a police line should be set up at the location to prevent any further activity that might attract thugs,” he stressed.

Janji Polisi

Erdi further stated that, following a meeting with the Metro Tangerang City Police, the Deputy Chief of Intelligence and the Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation both pledged to conclude the six reports within one to two weeks. Additionally, the police intend to conduct a clearance or install a police line at the contested site to avert further clashes and safeguard nearby residents.

No response has yet been received from the Metro Tangerang City Police regarding this matter. Journalists are still trying to reach the relevant parties.
