TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The communal viewing event for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final held at Makodim 0612 Tasikmalaya on Sunday night (19/7/2026) was more than just a showdown between Argentina and Spain.
The event, organized as part of the 2026 Festival of People’s Unity, was used as an opportunity to strengthen social bonds and boost the local economy by involving dozens of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The collaborative initiative between Kodim 0612 Tasikmalaya and the Tasikmalaya City Chamber of Commerce gathered the mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, the city police chief, AKBP Andi Purwanto, members of the regional leadership forum, business organizations, associations, and hundreds of residents.

The Commander of Kodim 0612 Tasikmalaya, Lieutenant Colonel Czi M Imvan Ibrahim, expressed hope that similar events could continue to be organized to deepen cooperation among government, the military, business actors, and the community.
“We will hold more events regularly to encourage frequent social interaction, enable meetings, and improve the welfare of Tasikmalaya’s residents,” he said.
He believed that welfare should not be measured solely by material wealth; he encouraged the community to view welfare in terms of health and quality of life.
“If we can sleep without sleeping pills and wake up without medical devices attached to our bodies, that is a sign of well-being; it does not always have to be viewed from a material perspective,” he said.
Imvan further stated that a prosperous region is indicated by the low number of residents requiring hospital care.
“There are two signs: there is no need for many hospitals, and hospitals are not filled with sick people. That proves the community is healthy and prosperous,” he revealed.
He then linked the philosophy of football to life, believing that the journey of the two World Cup finalists demonstrates that success stems from a long process, cooperation, patience, and strategy.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Tasikmalaya City Chamber of Commerce, Asep Saepulloh, emphasized that the organization of the Festival of People’s Unity is part of the Chamber’s national movement to boost economic activity through public events.
He explained that the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce network simultaneously organized a watch party for the World Cup final to provide entertainment and increase transactions for local business owners.
