CIAMIS, Thecuy.com – PSGC Ciamis continues to finalize preparations ahead of hosting PSMS Medan in the upcoming Pegadaian Championship or Liga 2 match of the 2026/2027 season at Stadion Galuh Ciamis on Saturday (31/10/2026).
As the home side, PSGC aims for a win to secure extra points and improve its standing in Group A’s standings. To achieve this goal, the coaching staff is concentrating its evaluation on several areas of weakness in the team’s performance, especially the defensive sector which remains a work in progress.
“The shortcomings in PSGC Ciamis’s gameplay are continuously being reviewed, particularly the team’s defensive line which is still a work in progress ahead of the match against PSMS Medan,” said PSGC Ciamis’ Head Coach, Heri Kiswanto, during a press conference at Stadion Galuh Ciamis on Friday (30/10/2026).

The evaluation is carried out to prevent the weaknesses observed in previous matches from recurring. The coaching staff aims to ensure that all players can perform more cohesively and disciplined when facing PSMS.
“The current presence of the players will certainly lead us to continue enhancing the team’s strength, especially in the back line,” he said.
During training sessions, improvements were made to several aspects, ranging from player speed, guarding of opponents, defensive depth, to cohesion among players. This was considered crucial to anticipate PSMS’s attacking patterns, which have also analyzed PSGC’s gameplay.
“We continue to improve in that sector (especially defense, Red). Thus, enhancing speed, guarding, depth, and cohesion to keep improving,” he said.
“Thus, we hope that the evaluation conducted can yield positive results when PSGC takes the field in front of their own supporters,” he added.
In addition to tactical and defensive readiness, Heri emphasized the importance of strengthening the players’ mental condition. Especially, the dense match schedule requires players, particularly the younger ones, to maintain high concentration and fighting spirit throughout the game.
“This is where mental strengthening becomes crucial so that young players can execute the game plan prepared by the coaching staff,” he said.

Heri also reminded his players not to underestimate PSMS Medan’s strength. Although one of the opponent’s players received a red card in the previous match, PSGC must remain vigilant against all PSMS players.
“All PSMS players must remain vigilant as they have the potential to endanger PSGC’s defense,” he said.
