Komisi III DPRD Kabupaten Tasikmalaya urges the local government to guarantee that the Mangunreja Sports Facility (SOR) project will be completed on schedule and meet the required quality standards.
The DPRD cautions that the project must not be delayed, similar to some county road reconstruction works that have exceeded their contract periods.
Aang Budiana, a member of Commission III of the Tasikmalaya Regency DPRD, stated that the certainty of completing the Mangunreja SOR construction has been a focus of the DPRD’s Budget Agency (Banggar) prior to budget approval.

Aang questioned whether the SOR construction can be guaranteed to meet the requirements and be finished by the end of this year, considering various aspects such as technical challenges, mitigation measures, and others, in an interview with Radar on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
According to Aang, the Budget Agency directly asked the Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD) of Tasikmalaya Regency, specifically the Head of DPU-TRPP-LH, about this readiness.
The Head of DPU-TRPP-LH, representing the local government, assured that the construction process can be completed, Aang explained.
After the SOR construction budget was approved, Commission III summoned DPU-TRPP-LH again to assess readiness and project completion forecasts.
We also inquired again about the issue, evaluating the progress of the Mangunreja SOR project. At that time, the head of DPU-TRPP-LH reported that the preparation phase was underway, with technical challenges and mitigation measures already in place, he clarified.
Commission III also highlighted the limited construction time and potential weather-related obstacles, as the work is taking place towards the end of the year when the rainy season begins.
We directly asked DPU-TRPP-LH how the project would fare when November arrives and heavy rainfall sets in. The agency’s response is based on BMKG weather forecasts indicating that rainfall in November is not expected to increase significantly, he said.

However, Aang stressed that the local government cannot fully rely on weather forecasts, as on-site conditions can change at any time.
It has already been proven that the rainy season began 4-5 days ago. Moreover, the project includes bridge construction, tribune building, land leveling, and field development, among others, Aang clarified.
Although the department confirmed that the work is progressing according to the work calendar, Commission III cannot yet confirm the physical progress of the Mangunreja SOR construction by the end of October. Therefore, the commission plans to conduct on-site monitoring and evaluation in the first week of November.
