TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The concern of the Tasikmalaya City Indonesian Teachers’ Association (PGRI) family materialized in a solidarity effort. They collected donations to assist disaster victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as well as teachers who suffered house fires.

‎The handover of the fundraising assistance took place at the PGRI Building of Tasikmalaya City on Friday (18/9/2026). The aid funds were gathered from all members of PGRI Tasikmalaya City. This collection reflects the teachers’ empathy and togetherness towards those facing hardship.

“What we intend to convey is that PGRI is not merely a professional organization but a large family that cares for and supports each other during times of adversity,” said Cecep.

‎Hj Affi Endah Navillah MPd, Secretary of PGRI Tasikmalaya City, added that the assistance offered cannot instantly replace all losses or erase the sorrow experienced by the victims.

‎Nevertheless, she said, the support is meant to signal that the victims are not alone in their hardship. “This fundraising initiative exemplifies the solidarity of the PGRI Tasikmalaya family. Although the aid may not fully erase sadness or replace all losses, we hope it shows they are not solitary, that there is compassion and assistance available,” she added.

‎PGRI Tasikmalaya City also urges all its members to sustain the spirit of mutual cooperation, togetherness, unity, and compassion. In times of disaster, the presence and sincerity of assistance are considered vital for those navigating challenging circumstances.

“We also wish to invite all PGRI members to continue fostering the spirit of mutual assistance, unity, solidarity, and empathy. Because when disaster strikes, what truly matters is not just the magnitude of our aid, but the sincerity of our presence for one another,” he concluded. (Firgiawan)
