TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The stage for the 5th Regional Meeting (Musda) V of the Golkar Party in Tasikmalaya City at Hotel Harmony on Friday (18/9/2026) suddenly acquired a political twist.
Deputy Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Diky Candra, was openly invited to join the Golkar Party by the Chairman of the West Java Golkar Party Regional Executive Board, Daniel Mutaqien.
Daniel presented the political overture while delivering a speech and inaugurating Musda V of the Golkar Party City Executive Board of Tasikmalaya.

In a jesting manner, Daniel likened joining Golkar to someone embracing Islam by reciting the shahada.
“If one enters Islam, it is by reciting the shahada; if one wishes to join Golkar, there is the Pancabakti,” Daniel stated.
Daniel then addressed Diky, who had previously, during his speech, recited the Golkar Pancabakti together with the Musda participants.
“Earlier I heard that Mr Diky is already fluent, so he may be permitted to join,” he clarified.
The statement instantly added a distinct hue to the Musda proceedings.
For, Diky Candra is not merely a guest. He serves as Deputy Mayor of Tasikmalaya and has so far been outside any specific political party structure.
However, Diky quickly provided context. He asserted that his ability to fluently recite the Pancabakti was not because he was already a member of Golkar, but because he followed the MC’s instructions.
“The MC instructed me just to follow what was being read out. Honestly, I am currently interested in learning about several parties,” Diky said.

The statement opened room for political interpretation. Diky admitted to studying several parties, but has not yet made a definitive choice regarding his political vehicle.
“I admit I am studying, but there are still many tasks in Tasik City. Until yesterday I still felt I was not qualified. Perhaps eventually it will be safe to choose,” he added.
In other words, the Pancabakti recited by Diky at the Musda venue did not automatically become a party membership card.
Politics apparently is not as simple as memorising text, let alone being considered as having moved house.
Diky also clarified his presence at the Tasikmalaya City Golkar Musda. He stated that it should not have been he who delivered the speech at that event.
Diky explained that he attended with a mandate to represent the Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan, who was unable to attend.
