PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – A Comprehensive Board Meeting (RBPL) of BPC Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia (HIPMI) in Pangandaran regency served as a key moment for the board to align the organization’s direction and outline strategic ideas and future work agendas.

The chairman of BPC HIPMI Pangandaran, Cinky Priyanto, stressed that the group should not merely act as a gathering spot for entrepreneurs. Instead, HIPMI must become a platform that speeds up growth for local businesspeople and enables them to play a more substantial role in the regional economy.

One of the primary concepts introduced by Cinky during the RBPL meeting was the idea of economic ownership.

According to him, Pangandaran exhibits a very dynamic economic activity. Acceleration in the tourism sector, influx of investments, extensive infrastructure development, and allocation of local government spending have generated numerous promising business opportunities.

Nevertheless, the current situation reveals that strategic opportunities and jobs are still largely controlled by corporations from outside the region.

“Pangandaran has economic activity but still lacks economic ownership,” he said on Thursday (17/9/2026).

Cinky explained that the core issue is not restricting external entrepreneurs from investing in Pangandaran. Involvement of outside investors remains essential to boost the area’s economic growth. However, the biggest challenge lies in the readiness of local businesses to seize opportunities within their own region.

Therefore, Cinky emphasized that local entrepreneurs in Pangandaran must possess three key foundations: capable, competent, and prepared.

Regarding the first pillar, ‘Capable’ (Bisa), Pangandaran entrepreneurs are required to have the courage to identify business opportunities beyond conventional sectors, not only concentrating on culinary ventures, retail trade, or tourism‑related services.

Business avenues in Pangandaran are considered widely open across various productive sectors, including technology, construction, healthcare, hospitality, logistics, agriculture, fisheries, education, and meeting the supply chain needs of government and private institutions. “We must start looking at opportunities, not just at existing businesses,” he said.

Concerning the second pillar, ‘Competent’ (Mampu), local entrepreneurs are expected to possess solid execution capabilities. This readiness involves enhancing capital, fulfilling business legality, standardizing certifications, improving human resource quality, managerial governance, technology adoption, and corporate capacity to handle large‑scale projects.
