TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The competition for the Chairman of the Golkar Party DPD in Tasikmalaya City has entered a new phase.

Prospective candidate for Chairman of the Golkar Party DPD of Tasikmalaya City, Nurul Awalin, officially submitted his registration documents to run in the Regional Consultation (Musda) scheduled for Friday (18/9/2026).

After a declaration and communal prayer, Nurul left his residence at Ponpes Al Khoeriyah Bantar. He then proceeded to the DPD Party Golkar Secretariat in a convoy escorted by all members of the Golkar Faction, nine PACs, and the party’s auxiliary organizations.

Nurul’s move marks a crucial point ahead of the Musda. Moreover, several names were previously linked to the contest for the position of Chairman of the Golkar DPD in Tasikmalaya City.

Nurul stated that his decision to run was not solely about vying for the chairmanship, but rather an effort to rebuild the strength of the Golkar Party in Tasikmalaya City through cadre consolidation.

“Hopefully, if it is God’s will, I will become Chairman of the Golkar DPD in Tasik City. My hope for the future is that all cadres, all the potential within the Golkar Party, let us unite to strengthen the Golkar Party,” said Nurul after submitting his registration papers at the DPD Party Golkar Secretariat on Thursday (17/9/2026).

According to him, all cadres need to re-unite their efforts. Because, the current political situation of Golkar in Tasikmalaya City is assessed to be facing quite serious challenges.

“Today we are in a lower position. We are not present in the executive, nor in the leadership of the council. If we do not unite, not work together, and let go of individual egos, it will be difficult for us to face the upcoming election,” he said.

Nurul even set a target for increasing the number of seats in the Tasikmalaya City DPRD in the upcoming election.

He divided the target into three levels: a minimum of six seats, a medium target of eight seats, and an upper target of ten seats or more.

The Chairman of the Steering Committee (SC) of the Musda DPD Party Golkar in Tasikmalaya City, Eris Hermawan, confirmed that his party had received Nurul Awalin’s registration papers.
