Witch on the Holy Night anime film will commence its global theatrical run in January 2027, after Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment disclosed dates for a range of overseas markets. The Japanese premiere is set for November 20, 2026.
The production by ufotable will debut in the United States and Canada on January 29, 2027, offered in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub.
The public rollout dates are announced as follows:
- January 21: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates
- January 26: Austria, Germany, German‑speaking Switzerland
- January 27: France, Belgium, French‑speaking Switzerland
- January 28: Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Central America, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Italian‑speaking Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand
- January 29: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Finland, Poland, Sweden, India
- February 5: Spain, Kazakhstan
Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) is a visual novel initially created by TYPE-MOON and penned by Kinoko Nasu, a creator also famous for Fate/stay night and Tsukihime. The title first appeared in Japan on April 12, 2012. An English edition was released worldwide in December 2022, and the game later arrived on Steam in 2023.
The game showcases character designs by Hirokazu Koyama and a soundtrack crafted by Hideyuki Fukasawa. The forthcoming cinematic version is being produced by Ufotable, the studio behind Demon Slayer and Fate/Zero.
