The series will adapt the manga drawn by Gyomuyomochi, a version that diverges considerably from Asa Rokushima’s source light novels. The English release is available through K‑Manga, which provides this summary of the plot:
Rein, the Enchanter, specializes in augmenting weapons and armor. After being dismissed from his guild simply for having already enchanted all of their possessions, he resolves to reclaim his power for himself—literally. He gathers every enchantment he once placed on his comrades’ gear, taking back the bonuses. Yet, does he truly have no better use for them than plain clothes and a copper sword…? Join him on an absurdly overpowered adventure that begins from the most modest of origins!
Studio P.A. WORKS has recently handled adaptations such as Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze and Skip and Loafer. Their original productions in the same period include Mayonaka Punch, Food for the Soul, and the previous season’s Dusk Beyond the End of the World. Founder Kenji Horikawa commented on the challenges of original creation versus adaptations, noting, “But, if the current situation continues, I feel a sense of crisis that even if we all want to, we might forget how to make an original work.”
