The anime adaptation of The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life has shared its initial teaser trailer, visuals, main actors, and production team prior to its October 2026 release. The source material, Tsuiho Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimama na Second Life o Oka Suru (commonly Chii Fuyo), is a Japanese web novel by Asa Rokushima launched in January 2021. Kodansha later released two light novel volumes with illustrations by Kisui in 2022. The manga, illustrated by Mochi Gyomuyo, began in Shonen Magazine R in October 2021 and transitioned to Monthly Maga Kichi in February 2023. It is also accessible via Comic Days and Magazine Pocket.
