The Dismissed Cheat‑Granting Mage Secures a New Life has unveiled a fresh action trailer preceding the anime’s scheduled October 2026 debut. The series was first teased back in February.
Animated by P.A.WORKS, this fantasy saga centers on Rein Garland, a spellcaster who was cast out of his guild after dedicating years to upgrading their items. Having reclaimed all the enchantments he bestowed upon his fellow guild members’ gear, Rein sets out on a fresh quest and uncovers the hidden power within his own abilities.
The voice cast for the anime includes:
- Daiki Yamashita as Rein Garland, the lead character
- Lynn as Lily Flambert, an S‑rank adventurer
- Yoshino Aoyama as Margaret Els
- Miyu Tomita provides the voice for Mirabelle
- Megumi Han voices Elsie Sora
- Konomi Kohara portrays Nina
- Nobuhiko Okamoto voices Hanbun
- Makoto Furukawa plays Cornelius
- Rie Shibata voices the Mother of Assassins
The series is helmed by director Shu Honma at P.A.WORKS. Yoko Yonaiyama oversees the series composition, and Tadahito Kiyosawa takes on the role of character designer and co‑chief animation director, sharing duties with Masami Gohda, who also designs comedic and supporting characters. The adaptation will follow the manga drawn by Gyomuyomochi, which diverges markedly from Asa Rokushima’s source light novels. The English version is published by K‑Manga, whose synopsis reads:
Rein, the Enchanter, wields the gift of augmenting weapons and armor as a support mage. When his guild dismisses him because his magic has already blessed all their possessions, he resolves to wield that power for himself—quite literally. He retrieves every enchantment he once placed on his comrades’ gear, reclaiming the enhancement points. Yet, can he truly do more with them than fashion plain clothes and a copper blade? Join this overpowered adventure that begins from the most humble of origins!
Studio P.A. WORKS’ recent anime adaptations include Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze and Skip and Loafer, while some of their recent original works include Mayonaka Punch, Food for the Soul, and last season’s Dusk Beyond the End of the World. The studio’s founder, Kenji Horikawa, also spoke about the difficulties of creating original works as compared to adaptations, saying “But, if the current situation continues, I feel a sense of crisis that even if we all want to, we might forget how to make an original work.”
Tsuiho Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimama na Second Life o Oka Suru, often shortened to Chii Fuyo, is a Japanese web novel penned by Asa Rokushima and launched on Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2021. Kodansha subsequently published two light‑novel volumes illustrated by Kisui in 2022. The manga adaptation illustrated by Mochi Gyomuyo debuted in Shonen Magazine R in October 2021, transferred to Monthly Maga Kichi in February 2023, and is also accessible on Comic Days and Magazine Pocket.
