Black Bullet is officially making a comeback with a fresh venture called Black Bullet: New World Order, representing the series’ first substantial return after a 12‑year hiatus.
The forthcoming entry is slated to launch in November 2026, featuring two volumes that will hit shelves at the same time. Afterward, the series will keep moving forward with fresh releases spanning four straight months. Additionally, the announcement signals that the narrative will enter a brand‑new arc, though specifics about the plot remain under wraps for now.
A dedicated announcement clip spotlighting Yuki Kaji and Rina Hidaka has been unveiled. The two actors previously provided the voices for Rentaro Satomi and Enju Aihara in the anime version.
The schedule is:
- November 2026: Black Bullet: New World Order 01 – Those Who Seek to Become Gods and New World Order 02 – VS the Sniper of Divine Strategy
- December 2026: New World Order 03, split into an upper volume titled The Destruction of the World by Flame, and a lower volume titled Vengeance Is Mine
- January 2027: New World Order 04, divided into Fugitive: Rentaro Satomi and The Wanderer of Purgatory
- February 2027: New World Order 05, comprised of Re: The Bullet of World Transformation and Justice & Injustice
Black Bullet is a Japanese light‑novel franchise penned by Shiden Kanzaki and illustrated by Saki Ukai. The series was released under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko label from July 2011 through April 2014, culminating in seven volumes. A manga adaptation illustrated by Morinohon launched in Dengeki Maoh in August 2012, continuing until June 2014 and totaling four volumes. Yen Press secured the English licensing for both the novels and the manga.
The anime version was brought to life by Kinema Citrus and Orange, helmed by director Masayuki Kojima. It premiered in Japan from April to July 2014, consisting of 13 episodes, and was made available worldwide via Crunchyroll. Sentai Filmworks obtained the rights for a North American release. The starring voice actors were Rina Hidaka as Enju Aihara, Yuki Kaji as Rentaro Satomi, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Tina Sprout, Yui Horie as Kisara Tendo, and Rikiya Koyama as Kagetane Hiruko.

In 2021, humanity fell under the grip of Gastrea, a parasitic virus, and was confined within walls constructed from Varanium Monoliths, a metal capable of suppressing the virus. Not long after, the so‑called “Cursed Children,” individuals born with the Gastrea virus who could harness its power—granting them extraordinary abilities—were identified. The virus’s effects limited the Cursed Children to being exclusively female. To combat this threat, Civil Securities were established, employing teams composed of an Initiator (a cursed child) and a Promoter who leads them.
