PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – A sudden and intense headache should not be dismissed as a minor complaint. Such a condition could signal a nerve disorder and serve as an early warning sign of a stroke.
RSUD Pandega Pangandaran conveyed this message through a health education post on its official Instagram account, @rsud_pangandaran. The post encourages the public to become more familiar with stroke symptoms so that timely treatment can be administered.
The Director of RSUD Pandega Pangandaran, Dr dr Hj Titi Sutiamah, stated that sudden and severe headaches are among the symptoms that require vigilance. The public is also advised to be alert if a headache is accompanied by numbness or tingling in specific body parts.
Even though the route is closed for the sake of arrangement, street vendors on Jalan Dadaha in Tasikmalaya city still persist despite dropping income. The mission to arrange Dadaha City Tasikmalaya is considered unrealistic.
She highlighted several symptoms that need attention, including numbness in the face, hands, or feet, tingling on one side of the body, slurred speech or difficulty speaking, and sudden blurred vision.
To help the public identify stroke symptoms, RSUD Pandega uses the reminder “SEGERA Ke RS”.
“SE” refers to an asymmetrical smile, “GE” indicates weakened movement on one side, while “RA” denotes slurred speech or difficulty speaking.
Meanwhile, “Ke” reminds the public about numbness or tingling on half of the body, “R” stands for blurry vision or visual disturbances in one eye, and “S” signifies a severe headache.
These symptoms require prompt action. RSUD Pandega emphasizes that the faster a person experiencing stroke symptoms receives treatment, the greater the chance of a better recovery. “Don’t wait for the symptoms to disappear on their own,” she said recently.
Titi also urged the public not to ignore sudden headaches, especially when accompanied by impairments in movement, speech, vision, or body sensation.
“If symptoms suggestive of a stroke are observed, it is recommended to seek medical assistance immediately and not to wait for the condition to improve on its own,” she said. (Den Deni Nurdiansah)
