TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Amid clean water shortages affecting various areas, the Cikupa Village Government in Karangnunggal District took concrete action by installing a hydraulic pump to meet the community’s water needs.
The hydraulic pump utilizes water sources located at the PSDA Bridge area in Tebongjaya. From there, water is channeled to several residential areas in Cikupa Village via a distribution network approximately 2 kilometers long.
This facility was constructed by Cikupa Village Head Yuda Heryadi together with village officials, directly involving and assisted by the community. This step represents the village government’s effort to utilize local water source potential to accelerate the handling of basic community needs.

The Cikupa Village Government does not only await assistance from other parties. Available water sources in the village area are being made directly accessible to help residents facing limited clean water access.
This action received appreciation from Suherman, Camat of Karangnunggal. According to him, the initiative demonstrates the village government’s concern for issues directly affecting basic community needs.
“This is a very good step and effort by the Cikupa Village Government. We certainly appreciate it. Amidst all its limitations, the village government can help alleviate the burden on its residents,” said Suherman, Camat of Karangnunggal, to Radar on Thursday (3/9/2026).
Suherman believes that utilizing local water sources through hydraulic pumps can serve as an alternative solution for villages facing clean water scarcity.
Moreover, water is a basic necessity for the community that requires government attention. Therefore, water sources located around the village area need to be identified and managed optimally while considering sustainability and applicable regulations.
“It’s not just about expecting assistance from external parties, but rather about utilizing water sources within its area for the benefit of its residents,” he said.
According to Suherman, the Cikupa Village Government’s actions can also serve as an example for other villages facing similar issues. Village government creativity supported by community mutual cooperation is considered important for finding solutions amidst limited infrastructure and resources.
