Thecuy.com, TASIKMALAYA – Residents of Kampung Kebon Kalapa in Mangunreja Village, Mangunreja District, Tasikmalaya Regency, are beginning to face a clean water shortage as the dry season persists. This situation prompted the Tasikmalaya Police to provide clean water assistance to the affected community.

A total of 5,000 liters of clean water was delivered using tanker trucks stationed in front of Baitul Hikmah Mosque in Kampung Kebon Kalapa on Friday (4/9/2026). The distribution point is located near the Tasikmalaya Police Barracks (Aspol).

The distribution was carried out directly to address the water needs of residents facing shortages due to reduced water sources. Villagers lined up orderly, each bringing various containers to collect the clean water aid.

Tasikmalaya Police Chief, AKBP Ade Papa Rihi, stated that the social initiative reflects the police’s commitment to assisting communities affected by the dry season.

“The decline in well water levels and drought affecting several community water sources were the primary reasons for providing this assistance,” Ade explained.

According to Ade, the Tasikmalaya Police are committed to continuing assistance by delivering clean water to drought-stricken areas in need of supply.

He added that the water crisis response program will not end with today’s activities; the Tasikmalaya Police plan to continue regular distribution of clean water to various drought-prone locations until rainfall levels return to normal.

The assistance was warmly received by the residents of Kampung Kebon Kalapa, who have struggled to obtain water for daily needs over the past several weeks.

One of the residents of Kampung Kebon Kalapa, Mangunreja Village, Nani (50), expressed gratitude for the police’s concern.

She noted that during the dry season, villagers have had to spend extra money to buy clean water or search for remaining water sources located at considerable distances.
