WIT STUDIO is hinting at a new Attack on Titan reveal slated for August 20, 2026, showcasing a design that features six characters from the franchise. Recently, MAPPA unveiled a special illustration for its 15th anniversary and also announced fresh animation work for the upcoming Attack on Titan 3 game.
The teaser image was shared along with the following message:
“It appears that they, during that era, are planning a special dinner.”
The illustration displays Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Levi Ackerman, Erwin Smith, and Hange Zoe, with August 20, 2026 shown at its base.
Additional specifics about the project or the reveal have not been disclosed. The phrasing alludes to the characters during “that time” or “that phase” and mentions a “special dinner,” leaving its exact meaning unclear until the official announcement.
Hajime Isayama penned and drew the Attack on Titan manga, which appeared in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from September 2009 through April 2021. Its chapters were gathered into 34 volumes. The television series was produced by WIT Studio for its initial three seasons, after which MAPPA took over. The anime totaled 94 episodes, with episodes 88‑94 released as the two Final Chapters specials.
The Final Chapters were fused into the THE LAST ATTACK film, featuring upgraded visuals and audio. It opened in Japan on November 8 to largely favorable reactions and included a fresh post‑credit scene. The production crossed the 1 billion‑yen mark by December 5, and overseas showings kicked off in early 2025. Crunchyroll launched the movie on its platform on April 17, 2025.
Producer Tetsuya Kinoshita has recently hinted at fresh anime ventures, such as additional movies and partnership initiatives.
