PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The joint SAR team’s search for the missing boat operator, Suprianto (40), has not yet produced any results as of Wednesday (12/8/2026). Should conditions allow, diving operations will be carried out to expand the search area.
Head of the Pangandaran SAR Post, Edwin Purnama, said that the search is still ongoing, covering the coastal area and surrounding waters, including the Cagar Alam waters.
“The search operation on this third day is still continuing. However, as of noon today there have been no results,” he told Radar on Wednesday (12/8/2026).

He said the SAR team is still evaluating the water conditions before proceeding with diving. High waves are the main challenge for underwater search operations. “For diving, we are still observing the current water situation,” he said.
He stated that, according to BMKG information, wave conditions in the Pangandaran waters remain high, making diving impossible for now. “But if the situation permits, we will conduct diving,” he said.
His side continues to use jukung boats for the search within a radius of several kilometers. “We hope the victim will be found soon, of course in a safe condition,” he said.
It was previously reported that a boat skipper named Suprianto went missing on Pangandaran’s west coast and is still being searched for as of Tuesday (11/8/2026). This happened while he was taking six fishermen to look for layur fish. Unexpectedly, the boat he was aboard was struck by high waves and capsized.
