TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The illegal mixing of alcoholic beverages has become a hot topic again in Tasikmalaya City.
This time, police raided a location suspected of being a storage and sales site for Bali/ciu liquor in Cibeureum District.
The raid originated from a tip-off by residents who noticed the sale of illegally mixed alcoholic drinks at a rented house in Kampung Negla, RT 03/04, Setianegara Village, Cibeureum District, Tasikmalaya City.
A narcotics‑free village initiative by Tasikmalaya City Police secured third place from the National Police, with community members serving as frontline protectors. The body of an elderly Tasikmalaya resident was discovered after days without family visits.
In response to the tip, a joint team from Cibeureum Police, Tamansari Police, Narcotics Unit, and Public Order Unit of Tasikmalaya City Police conducted an inspection on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
As a result, law enforcement recovered a substantial quantity of illegal alcoholic beverages. Approximately 500 liters of Bali/ciu spirits were seized from the site.
The Chief of Police of Tasikmalaya City, AKBP Andik Eko Siswanto, via the Chief of Cibeureum Police, AKP Iwan Sujarwo, confirmed the raid.
He stated that the action was taken after receiving reports from residents about suspected illegal alcohol sales in the Cibeureum area.
“We followed up on the community’s report about illegal alcohol sales in Cibeureum. During the inspection at the rented house belonging to Mr. GIO, we confiscated around 500 liters of alcoholic beverages and detained two suspected sellers,” said AKP Iwan Sujarwo.
From the scene, police seized several items indicating large‑scale storage and packaging of illegal alcohol.
The evidence included one 250‑liter tank/toren, nine 30‑liter drums, 149 250‑milliliter bottles containing alcohol, and 1,214 empty 250‑milliliter bottles.
Complaints about the Cipatujah Tasikmalaya fuel station’s service have surfaced, prompting Hiswana Migas to review the operator’s performance. Residents of Sukabakti, Tasikmalaya City, face clean water shortages; police arrived with 1,000 liters to assist.
Two individuals suspected of being involved in the sale of illegal alcohol were also detained. They are identified as AJ (32), a laborer from Purbaratu District, and YOS (34), a laborer from Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City.
Both are currently undergoing interrogation at the Cibeureum Police Station along with the evidence seized by law enforcement.
The discovery of over a thousand empty bottles at the site illustrates that the illegal alcohol problem extends beyond a few bottles changing hands.
There are storage and distribution activities that could potentially expand its circulation even further.
