GARUT, Thecuy.com – The prolonged dry season has caused a clean water crisis in several districts of Garut Regency. Some of them have already received clean water supply assistance.
The Head of the Garut Regency BPBD, Aah Anwar Saepulloh, stated that 50,000 liters of clean water have been distributed to anticipate water shortages and assist residents affected by the drought in three subdistricts.
Aah Anwar Saepulloh said that the response is focused on areas experiencing the most severe crisis to ensure that the community’s basic needs are met.

“From May to July, our main focus was on three subdistricts,” he said on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
He said that a total of 1,797 people, or 605 households, across various villages and hamlets have already benefited from the clean water supply.
Aah explained that ten tanker truck units have been continuously deployed to reach residential areas.
To maintain quality and safety for consumption, all water supplies come directly from PDAM Tirta Intan.
Based on BPBD Garut Regency’s recap data, the distribution of clean water in three subdistricts shows that Sucinaraja subdistrict received the largest volume, 25,000 liters, supplied in one day to assist 410 people.
Then, Cibatu subdistrict, which has the highest delivery frequency, includes four distribution sessions at different locations. “The total supply reached 15,000 liters for 1,300 people,” he said.
Finally, Tarogong Kaler subdistrict received a supply of 10,000 liters of clean water utilized by 87 people.

“Cibatu subdistrict is indeed the most frequent handling point because its location is scattered across several different areas. Meanwhile, for Sucinaraja, we supplied the largest volume at once in one day according to the urgency level on the ground,” he added.
BPBD Garut Regency continues to monitor the development of the situation in the area and is ready to deploy additional fleets if the clean water crisis still spreads in residential areas. (Agi Sugiana)
