KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME has kicked off its inaugural anniversary event, unveiling a fresh main story installment, a brand‑new playable incarnation of Kaiju No. 8, and a host of in‑game promotions that will hand out over 25,000 Dimensional Crystals to participants.
Our earlier chat with Akatsuki Games, the studio behind the title, had them share insights on the game’s objectives, exclusive material, and plenty besides.
The headline update is Main Story Chapter 14, dubbed “Kaiju A Disaster: Final Showdown.” This fresh chapter picks up the series’ core plot as the Japan Defense Force and CLOZER’s operatives converge in New York for an ultimate clash with the Dimensional Identified Kaiju A.
The game’s official synopsis reads as follows:
After securing the Dimensional Gates worldwide, the Japan Defense Force and CLOZER’s operatives finally gather in New York for the decisive confrontation. Yet, the Dimensional Identified Kaiju A has at last unveiled its genuine visage, pushing them to the edge of ruin with staggering resilience and an endless stream of spawning Yoju.
In the meantime, Kafka Hibino confronts a peril that endangers his very being. After leaping into the inter‑gate fissure, overwhelming transition energy inflicts his form. To rescue him, Sagan Shinomiya enters the rift alone, yet…
Fueled by the ties of friendship, humanity triggers the signal for a retaliatory assault. After weathering this relentless defensive struggle, will they manage to claim a hope for the future? The climactic fight against Kaiju A erupts as the captivating Main Story Chapter 14 commences.
Apart from the narrative patch, the title introduces a fresh 5‑Star protagonist, “[Strike from the Kaiju Dimension] Kaiju No. 8.” This novel iteration of Kafka’s metamorphosis sports an altered look encircled by a violet aura, showcasing a “brand‑new” ability.
The celebratory upgrade also revives the “[Over Limit] Sagan Shinomiya” limited banner, together with the 5‑Star spear weapon Lc‑Anorollal.
Commemorating the milestone, Akatsuki Games is handing out over 25,000 Dimensional Crystals via login rewards and celebratory in‑game activities throughout the promotion. Additionally, a special anniversary portal has launched, showcasing the event’s flagship artwork and details on forthcoming festivities.
A unique “Kaiju No. 8 Day” livestream has been slated for August 5th. The stream will expose more content slated for the anniversary and forthcoming game enhancements.

Kaiju No. 8 Background
The title originates from Naoya Matsumoto’s manga Kaiju No. 8, which ran on Shonen Jump+ from July 2020 through July 2025. By September 2025, the series has eclipsed 19 million copies sold, spanning 16 volumes.
The anime series debuted with its first run from April to June 2024, then saw a film compilation release in March 2025 and a second season that continued through September 2025. Additionally, a ‘final chapter’ anime is in the works, together with a short original anime titled Narumi’s Week at Work.
