TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The leadership baton in the Tasikmalaya City Police officially changed.
During the farewell ceremony held at Graha Asri Plaza Asia on Friday (31/7/2026), AKBP Andi Purwanto bid farewell after receiving an assignment as the Police Chief of Subang.
Meanwhile, his replacement, AKBP Andik Eko Siswanto, affirmed his commitment to continue his predecessor’s achievements by prioritizing openness, synergy, and service to the community.
An emotional atmosphere colored the farewell evening of the Tasikmalaya City Police Chief.

AKBP Andi Purwanto said there were many unforgettable memories during his tenure as chief of the Tasikmalaya City Police.
He explained that one of his leadership principles, always applied to all personnel, was to open the widest possible communication channels for the community.
“I have ordered that my office door is always open. If a guest from Tasikmalaya arrives, open the door, let them in, offer a drink, and provide food,” he said.
AKBP Andi said he momentarily held back tears while leading his final assembly with his members.
He even chose not to deliver a farewell speech to avoid becoming engrossed in the emotional atmosphere.
“Rather than appear weak in front of my members, I prefer to invite them to conduct the assembly as usual,” he said.
He believes that serving in Tasikmalaya City provided a very comprehensive experience, ranging from addressing security dynamics, national issues, to interacting with various community elements.

“All experiences are in Tasik. This becomes knowledge that other police chiefs who have not served here may not obtain,” he said.
He also expressed that he has a deep impression of the Tasikmalaya community’s character, which is religious, respects culture, and has a strong spirit of mutual cooperation.
Not only that, AKBP Andi said his family feels comfortable living in Tasikmalaya.
Even more, he joked, during his service his weight actually increased by six kilograms due to enjoying the atmosphere and cuisine in the Clean City.
He expressed his apologies to all residents if there were any shortcomings during his service.
He also asked for blessings so that he may fulfill his new assignment as the Police Chief of Subang.
“May the silaturahmi (social ties) and brotherhood that have been established never be severed by distance or time,” he hoped.
In the meantime, the new Tasikmalaya City Police Chief, AKBP Andik Eko Siswanto, introduced himself along with his family and declared his readiness to become a part of the Tasikmalaya community.
