Pada malam Jumat (24/7/2026), sekretariat HMI Cabang Tasikmalaya didatangi oleh aksi demonstrasi yang dilakukan oleh para kader.
Unjuk rasa tersebut mengkritik belum mulainya proses pergantian kepemimpinan yang dianggap sudah melebihi masa jabatan, sehingga menghambat proses kaderisasi.

Ketua Umum HMI Komisariat IAIT, Asep Solahudin Sobari, emphasized that the action was a pure initiative of the cadres from the Universitas Islam Tasikmalaya (Unitas) Komisariat family, without being exploited for other parties’ interests.
According to him, the leadership of HMI Cabang Tasikmalaya should have ended in March 2026.
However, up to the end of July, the leadership change has not yet taken place.
“The situation has become a serious problem because it hampers the organization’s progress, especially in the area of cadre training. After all, HMI is a cadre training organization that is mandated to continue the regeneration process,” Asep told Radar.
Prior to the demonstration, he said, the cadets had attempted to voice their aspirations through discussions and internal communications.
However, these efforts were considered to have not received an adequate response from the branch leadership.
“We took action as a form of disappointment because the communication we made was not responded to properly,” he said.
Asep explained that, organizationally, HMI Cabang Tasikmalaya had actually held Pleno II as part of the process leading up to the Branch Conference.

“We see attempts to perpetuate the periodization. Therefore, we have chosen to take a stance so that this organization can be fixed immediately,” he said.
According to Asep, if the issue continues to be ignored, the new cadres who have completed the First Cadre Training (LK I) will lose their way in understanding the values and mechanisms of the organization.
He even warned that the new cadres should not become mere supplements to internal political interests.
“If it is not fixed immediately, the new cadres could lose sight of the true HMI. Let them not become mere commodities for political interests,” he emphasized.
