Thecuy.com – Hotman Paris Hutapea has officially resigned as the legal counsel for the alleged corruption suspect, former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. The resignation was announced by Hotman during a press conference at Medistra Hospital, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 23, 2026.
Hotman says he had been in touch with Febrie for the past two days. “Because of health concerns, I informed my client, who is now a former client, Mr. Febrie, the ex-Jampidsus, that I was stepping down two days ago,” Hotman stated.
He further mentioned that Febrie had asked to postpone the resignation. However, Hotman’s condition was deteriorating, leaving no room for further delay. “I expressed my intention to resign two days ago, but he urged us to postpone for a few more days. Yet, if I keep using my brain and my physical condition is like this, I’m afraid it will get worse,” he added.
Alasan Kesehatan yang Mendesak
Hotman explained that he underwent surgery for a compressed nerve in Singapore on July 9, 2026. The operation was performed under general anesthesia, and he was required to stay hospitalized for four nights. Nonetheless, he only stayed for two nights before deciding to move to Hotel Hilton Singapore. “In Singapore, I was operated on under general anesthesia and was supposed to stay for four nights, but I only stayed two. As usual, I was a bit disorderly and left after two nights, moving to Hotel Hilton Singapore, despite the doctors being angry and forbidding it,” Hotman said.
Upon returning to Indonesia, Hotman was treated at Medistra Hospital under the supervision of Dr. Penny. Doctors in Singapore had instructed him not to work for two weeks. However, due to the heavy workload of his ongoing case, Hotman continued to work, causing his condition to deteriorate further. “The doctors are concerned I could become paralyzed because the compressed nerve has been spreading to my leg for the past two months. If something happens to the nerve, my leg won’t be able to ‘kick’ opponents anymore,” he said.
Rencana Pengobatan Lanjutan
At present, Hotman is still experiencing pain. He plans to go back to Singapore on Friday, July 24, 2026, for further treatment. “Yes, I’m still in pain. So tomorrow dawn I will head to Singapore. If you want to meet me at the airport around 05.30 WIB, look for me at Terminal 3, Gate 1. Hopefully this time I won’t be required to be hospitalized again,” Hotman said.
Because of these health concerns, Hotman has officially resigned as Febrie’s attorney. “Yes, I have told him that because my health condition could worsen, I need total rest. I have formally notified him of my resignation as Mr. Febri’s lawyer in the suspect case at the Attorney General’s Office. Look, I’m even using a cane,” Hotman concluded.
