Thecuy.com โ€“ The Indonesian manufacturing PMI reached 54.0 in October 2026, according to S&P Global data, as reported by Minister of Industry Muhammad Sarmuji. This figure positions Indonesia above several nations, including Japan, Vietnam, China, South Korea, and Malaysia.

Sarmuji highlighted the achievement during the launch of the Krista Interfood Exhibition at NICE PIK 2, Tangerang, Banten. He stated that a PMI above 50 indicates the manufacturing sector remains in an expansion phase.

PMI meningkat dibandingkan bulan sebelumnya

In his explanation, Sarmuji said the Indonesian manufacturing PMI for October 2026 rose to 54.0 from 52.4 in September. He also compared it to August, when the index stood at 49.8, entering contraction territory.

Didukung pesanan baru dan ekspor

Sarmuji stated that the rise in the manufacturing PMI aligned with Indonesia’s Industrial Confidence Index (IKI) in October 2026, which climbed to 53.77. He explained that the strengthening of these two industrial indicators was driven by a surge in new orders, which grew at the fastest rate in the past five years.

He also noted that new export orders recorded the highest growth since the survey began in 2011. Based on these indicators, the Ministry of Industry believes that businesses still have confidence in Indonesia’s investment and manufacturing climate.

Pemerintah dorong industri memanfaatkan momentum

Sarmuji urged industry players to capitalize on this expansion momentum to boost production capacity. According to him, the Ministry of Industry not only serves as a regulator and facilitator but also aims to be an accelerator for industrial sector growth.

The statement was made amid ongoing signals of manufacturing recovery and expansion that the government continues to monitor as a key driver of national economic growth.
