TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Commission III of the Tasikmalaya Regency DPRD has highlighted delays in the reconstruction of two road sections, namely Sukakerta-Setiawangi in Jatiwaras District and Jamupu-Banjarwaringin in Salopa District. Both projects have exceeded their contract periods, while the work progress remains far from the target.

These two road sections are part of 32 road reconstruction packages financed by a regional loan from the Tasikmalaya Regency Government to the central government through PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI)

Aang Budiana, a member of Commission III of the Tasikmalaya Regency DPRD and Chairman of the Golkar Fraction, said that monitoring and evaluation results on the ground indicate that the progress of both projects is still below 50 percent.

A large crowd of worshippers participated in Tasikmalaya Bershalawat at Manonjaya Square, while Councilor Iyam Maryani urged stronger child protection measures following the Bantarkalong case in Tasikmalaya, which has become a cautionary tale.

“Based on our field monitoring and supervision of both road sections, the progress is still below 50 percent,” said Aang.

To follow up on the findings, Commission III has contacted the Department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement and Environmental Management (DPU-TRPP-LH)

“The department admitted that the work on the two road sections had already expired its contract period. We attempted to call on the goods and services provider (third party,Red), but during the monitoring and evaluation, we were unable to meet them,” revealed Aang.

According to him, the situation must receive serious attention from the local government. Moreover, projects financed by regional loans must be implemented in accordance with the contract, both in terms of time and work quality.

“Commission III appreciates the regional government’s performance in building several road sections in Tasikmalaya Regency, funded by a regional loan. On the one hand, we encourage the government’s steps in following up on roads that are not yet completed or whose progress does not match the contract period; action must be taken,” urged Aang.

Aang explained that, based on his experience as Chairman of Commission III, unfinished work when the contract period ends must be followed up by calling on the service provider through the relevant department.

“According to information from the department, the provider has been called. This means that as a solution, the provider has agreed to complete the work that is his responsibility, as he has won the tender,” he said.

Gerindra’s mobile doctor visited Cineam, Tasikmalaya, providing free treatment to hundreds of residents; meanwhile, MP Ahmad Doli Kurnia highlighted bullying cases that have claimed victims when schools are no longer safe.

He emphasized that all delay risks are the responsibility of the service provider in accordance with the contract terms, including weather constraints and other factors.
