A fresh Dr. STONE continuation anime titled Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING has been officially green‑lit. The project will continue the story after the conclusion of the TV anime, which premiered its series finale on June 25, 2026.
The upcoming series will adapt “TERRAFORMING,” a follow‑up tale featured in Volume 27 of the original manga. Additionally, a promotional video with newly recorded dialogue from Senku has been unveiled.
The manga’s creator Riichiro Inagaki offered the following comment:
“Thanks to all of you tuning into STONE FES. 2026!
The Dr. STONE series reached the manga’s conclusive chapter. I felt truly touched by that.
Yet, surprisingly, there is even more to come…!!
It wasn’t a lie! After all, Senku and his crew’s scientific quest persisted.
In fact, such a deception is perfectly fine! One could even claim that labeling this event as the finale was itself a ruse!
So, dear viewers, keep an eye on Senku and his friends’ scientific endeavors for a little longer.
This is incredibly thrilling!!”
The anime’s character designer, Yuko Iwasa, produced a special illustration to mark the announcement.
“Greetings to all who attended STONE FES. 2026, those who watched the stream, and everyone who has enjoyed Dr. STONE—an endless thank you!
I’m genuinely delighted to be able to convey the excitement surrounding the production of the Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING anime.
We appreciate your patience and anticipation for more news!
Riichiro Inagaki penned the Dr. STONE manga, illustrated by Boichi. After a five‑year run, the series concluded on March 7, 2022, spanning 232 chapters. The creators released a special illustration and notes:
The third season, Dr. STONE: NEW WORLD, rolled out in two split cours during 2023, adapting the Treasure Island arc. Right after its wrap‑up, the fourth and final season, Dr. STONE: SCIENCE FUTURE, was announced. This final season spanned three split cours from 2025 to 2026, ending the anime on June 25, 2026 and concluding Senku’s saga, the petrification mystery, and the Kingdom of Science’s quest.
Overall, the series comprises four seasons and a special: 24 episodes in Season 1, 11 in Season 2, the Ryusui special, 22 in Season 3, and 37 in Season 4, amounting to 94 standard TV episodes plus one special, for a total of 95 animated episodes.
