TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Internet poles lined up and standing close together on several streets in Tasikmalaya City have started to be tidied up.
The Tasikmalaya City Government, through the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (DPUTR), is now promoting shared pole usage so that the installation of telecommunications networks does not continue to make the road look messy.
The arrangement is carried out simultaneously with network cable tidying. For the initial stage, DPUTR targets Jalan Tamansari and Jalan Noenoeng Tisna Saputra by involving at least 13 telecommunication providers that have networks in the area.

Yana Suryana, Road and Bridge Analyst at the Tasikmalaya City DPUTR, said that the arrangement does not require a special budget from the government. The tidying is carried out through coordination with providers that have networks in the location.
“This is a simple step. It doesn’t have to use a budget. Just coordinate with the providers and then we tidy it up together,” said Yana on Thursday (8/10/2026).
However, the work of tidying cables and arranging poles cannot be done instantly. For one road section, the process can take about two to three weeks, depending on network conditions and the amount of cable that needs to be arranged.
The issue under scrutiny is not only tangled cables. The number of internet poles in several locations is also considered to be excessive.
Yana mentioned that there are locations where more than five poles stand close together in one spot. This situation is then simplified with the concept of one pole being used by several providers.
“Public complaints about the large number of internet poles in Tasikmalaya City have been tried to be addressed. For example, at one point there were originally more than five poles, we simplified it to three poles or adjusted it to the cable load,” he explained.
The shared pole concept is expected to act as a brake so that providers do not continue to install new poles when there are still poles available for shared use.

DPUTR also encourages the existence of a minutes of agreement regarding pole usage. This step is needed so that the use of poles by other providers does not turn into a problem of asset claims or compensation requests.
“We will create a minutes of agreement regarding pole usage. We don’t want other providers who are using the facility to be asked for compensation later on. So there must be no claim of ownership even though the asset clearly belongs to someone,” he said.
