Thecuy.com, Banyuwangi – The Regional Executive of the Nasdem Party in Banyuwangi has set its sights on securing eight seats in the Banyuwangi DPRD, one seat in the East Java Provincial DPRD, and one seat in the Indonesian House of Representatives during the 2029 general election. This ambition was declared by Bernat Sipahutar, Secretary of the Nasdem DPD in Banyuwangi, following the inauguration of the party’s new regional office situated on Jl. Borobudur.
Bernat elaborated that the recent leadership change within the Nasdem DPD in Banyuwangi, whose new officials were sworn in on August 26, 2026, aims to revitalize the organization and is unrelated to any internal disputes. “Essentially, this is a restructuring effort that the DPP may have initiated to refresh the Nasdem Party’s Banyuwangi Regency branch,” he remarked.
The newly established office has been designed to better accommodate party cadres and officials. Bernat expressed hope that the space will be fully utilized by cadres and will ultimately benefit the residents of Banyuwangi. Additionally, the Nasdem DPD in Banyuwangi has allocated two vehicles for public service: one emergency vehicle and one operational vehicle.
“We will work in unison and foster stronger relationships, promising a brighter future ahead,” Bernat added. In pursuit of its seat target, the Nasdem DPD in Banyuwangi aspires to field candidates across all eight electoral districts within the regency, aiming to secure representation from each. In the previous 2024 election, Nasdem Banyuwangi managed to win only seven seats, leaving electoral district five without any representative.
Banyuwangi Nasdem DPD Chairwoman, Ratih Nur Hayati, noted that the party’s local composition already meets the statutory minimum of 30 percent. Ratih reiterated the party’s commitment to consistently act in the public’s best interest. “Ideally, representation should be present in at least eight districts, ensuring Nasdem Banyuwangi holds eight seats in the regional parliament,” she explained.
Strengthening the party’s internal mechanisms is also considered vital for building a more robust organization. Ratih is optimistic that with the newly formed leadership, Nasdem Banyuwangi can influence local political developments and enhance the party’s overall standards moving forward.
