TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – In commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Kodim 0612/Tasikmalaya holds various social and community empowerment activities.
The diverse activities form a series of TNI anniversary celebrations, with the main event scheduled for 5 October 2026.
The Assistant Commandant of Kodim 0612/Tasikmalaya, Major Caj Dadan Kusnadi, stated that the 81st TNI anniversary celebration serves as a crucial moment to reflect on the long history and sacrifices of the TNI in preserving the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

He said the series of events is not solely focused on ceremonial aspects, but also directly addresses community needs.
Among the activities already carried out are community service, cleaning markets and rivers, mass circumcisions, and free medical treatment. Implementation of these activities also involves various parties, including the Police and the public.
“This is our form of dedication to the community. The activities are carried out together and involve various elements,” said Dadan.
He added that cooperation between the TNI and the Police is crucial for carrying out various activities within the community. The collaboration extends from social activities to handling emergency situations such as disasters.
“Together with the Police, we always work shoulder to shoulder in carrying out our duties, including when there are community needs that require immediate attention,” he said.
In addition to community service, Kodim 0612/Tasikmalaya continues to promote the strengthening of food resilience. The TNI is also involved in community empowerment through the agricultural sector.
According to Dadan, Danramils are instructed to conduct area potential surveys, compile activity schedules, and accompany the community in developing the agricultural sector.

“Food security is one of our concerns. The TNI is present to encourage and empower the community, especially farmers,” he said.
He mentioned that several agricultural crops have begun to show results. One of them is rice, which is now considered to only need optimized management.
Dadan assessed that Tasikmalaya Regency has great potential to support food resilience due to its geographical conditions and the fact that many people still rely on the agricultural sector for their livelihood.
“We are confident that food in Tasikmalaya can be secure because its geographical conditions are supportive. Many people still focus on the agricultural sector,” he said.
