TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Tasikmalaya City Government held a free mass circumcision event for 80 children at RSUD Dewi Sartika, Kawalu District, Tasikmalaya City, on Friday (23/10/2026). The event is part of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Tasikmalaya City.

This mass circumcision initiative reflects the government’s concern for the community, especially families in need of complimentary health services.

In addition to easing parents’ financial strain, the program is expected to improve children’s access to health care services in Tasikmalaya City.

Wali Kota Tasikmalaya, Viman Alfarizi Ramadan, said the mass circumcision event is one of the government’s efforts to encourage residents to appreciate and be grateful for 25 years of Tasikmalaya City’s existence.

He believes the anniversary celebration should not be limited to ceremonial activities, but should also be realized through programs that provide direct benefits to the community.

“Through this event, we aim to encourage residents to appreciate and be grateful for Tasikmalaya City’s birth anniversary by engaging in activities that deliver real benefits, including free health services for the community,” he said.

Viman hopes that the collaboration between the Tasikmalaya City Government and the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) will continue to be strengthened, enabling health‑related social activities to be carried out on a sustainable basis.

He also hopes that next year’s mass circumcision event will be more festive with a larger number of participants, allowing more families to benefit from the program.

In addition to mass circumcisions, the Tasikmalaya City Government continues to promote various health care programs to improve public access to medical services, including free health check‑ups conducted in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

The Chairperson of the Tasikmalaya City IDI, dr. H. Farid Wajdi, Sp.THT-BKL., M.H., stated that the participants in this mass circumcision event come from various areas reached through coordination with health centres.

“For this event, we gathered around 80 participants. We involved all health centres to assist in sending the participants,” he said.
