TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – At the outset of the planning phase, the Tasikmalaya municipal administration demonstrated a committed stance to improve the organization of Dadaha. Yet, mid-way through, budget constraints emerged abruptly as a pretext when progress stalled.
This is seen as an unethical approach by the government, as they initiated the project without seeing it through to completion. The city administration proceeded with the arrangement without adequate planning and financial backing.
Tasikmalaya’s social and governmental observer, Asep M. Tamam, believes the city government has several options to secure funding if the regional budget falls short. These options should be outlined during the planning process, including seeking central government support or other permissible sources.

“If it cannot be funded through the regional budget, the city government must be capable and willing to obtain funding from the central government,” he said.
The current situation indicates that the Dadaha arrangement is being carried out without sufficient planning and financial support. This creates the impression that the government is acting hastily and lacks professionalism.
If it is serious, Asep said, the city government should prepare a well-thought-out plan along with the necessary financing to avoid mid-project halts and incomplete arrangements.
“We must not conduct the arrangement carelessly, only to fail later and then invoke the lack of budget as a reason,” he said.
In this scenario, Asep urges the Tasikmalaya City Government to promptly and decisively establish the direction for the Dadaha arrangement. The government must clarify whether the area will truly be transformed into a representative public space or be left to develop haphazardly in line with various interests.
“This requires an urgent decision. The government must seriously determine where Dadaha is headed,” he concluded.
The Dadaha complex plays a crucial role for Tasikmalaya City residents. It serves as a place where people exercise, relax, gather, and engage in various social activities.

“In my view, Dadaha is a treasure for the residents and for Tasikmalaya City. It should not be managed carelessly. It must be properly arranged to be orderly, comfortable, and beautiful,” he said.
He assesses that the current condition of Dadaha still requires comprehensive improvements. Arrangement alone is insufficient; it is not enough to merely regulate traders’ activities or implement traffic engineering around the area.
