Now That We Draw Anime Reveals First Trailer, January 2027 Release Date

Now That We Draw anime unveiled its first teaser trailer, showcasing fresh character designs and confirming a January 2027 premiere. The series will be directed by Shunsuke Ishikawa at studio ROLL2, with Deko Akao overseeing composition and Hiromi Nakagawa handling character design. A key visual was previously released in March.

The principal voice performers include:

• Sayumi Suzushiro as Niina Miyamoto
• Ayumu Murase as Yuuki Uehara

The romantic comedy centers on Yuuki and Niina, aspiring manga artists who adopt a covert fake romance to gather love experience for their work. The latest character posters can be seen beneath.

Now That We Draw is a manga authored by Kyu Takahata and Yuwji Kaba. It has been serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal seinen manga magazine since February 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the English version, summarizing the plot as: Opposites attract in this hysterical rom-com about two high school manga artists who can’t catch a break!

Clumsy high‑schooler Yuuki Uehara has created the ideal heroine for a romance manga: shy, airheaded, and pure. After an editor at his coveted publisher dismisses his story as dull and unrealistic, Uehara spirals into despair and is drawn to his vivacious, attractive classmate Niina Miyamoto, who also aspires to be a manga creator.

Having received similar criticism for her own work, Miyamoto suggests a pretend romance with Uehara, as they both lack dating experience. However, Miyamoto is nothing like the flawless heroine Uehara imagined, and he is far from the confident hero of her tale. Will their absurd partnership help realize their manga ambitions, or will it spawn more comical mishaps?
