PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The sign informing visitors about the smoking ban in the West Pangandaran Beach area vanished on Wednesday (23/9/2026). In fact, the sign had only been put up about two days earlier, drawing attention from tourism operators.
It is known that there were two no‑smoking signs previously installed near the open stage and the Pangandaran Sunset area.
Resident of Pangandaran named Padna, age 36, looked for the sign around those two locations but could not find it. ‘Yesterday I looked for it, but it was already gone,’ he told Radar on Thursday (24/9/2026).

However, on Tuesday (22/9/2026), the sign was still present and became a topic of conversation among locals, especially tourism operators.
Plt. Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pangandaran, Titi Sutiamah, said that installing no‑smoking signs is not a new practice in this tourist area.
She noted that no‑smoking signs had been placed previously, but many of them vanished later. ‘A few days ago we reinstalled them. This is to remind and re‑educate the community,’ she explained.
Nevertheless, the newly installed sign suddenly vanished, and the person who removed it remains unknown. (Deni Nurdiansah)
