The Fortnite × Kingdom Hearts partnership is currently active, introducing Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Roxas into the title. Nintendo has posted a launch trailer for the joint event, accessible on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.
The quartet is now available in the Fortnite Item Shop as cosmetic skins, each paired with a coordinating Back Bling, Pickaxe, and LEGO Fortnite appearance. The tie‑in also offers a Kingdom Hearts bundle that supplies extra skins such as the Keyblade Flourish dance, the Lil’ Gummi Ship dance, and the songs “Dearly Beloved” and “The Other Promise.”

This partnership also integrates into Battle Royale mode. Participants can use the Kingdom Key for close‑range combos and unleash a lightning strike, and the Sea Salt Ice Cream item replenishes health and provides a shield. Additionally, two new Overrides have been introduced: Recovery makes downed opponents drop healing orbs, and Level Up equips every team member with a Mythic Kingdom Key.
Exclusive Kingdom Hearts Power Hours are scheduled for September 19, running from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET and again from 9:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET. Throughout these windows, every participant begins the match equipped with a Kingdom Key and a Sea Salt Ice Cream.

Debuting in 2002 as a joint effort by Square Enix and Disney, the Kingdom Hearts franchise merges original protagonists with iconic Disney realms and characters. Over the intervening twenty years, the title has been ported to a wide array of consoles and handheld devices, accumulating sales exceeding 38 million units globally and establishing itself as one of Square Enix’s flagship series.
The latest mainline title, Kingdom Hearts III, wrapped up the protracted Dark Seeker Saga focused on Xehanort, whereas Kingdom Hearts IV is poised to launch a fresh narrative arc. Kingdom Hearts IV showcased an extended gameplay trailer at D23 2026 and is slated for a late 2027 launch.
