Forum Silaturahmi Rukun Tetangga dan Rukun Warga (Forsil RTRW) Tasikmalaya urges the Tasikmalaya City Government to reinforce a community‑based security system.

The Chairman of Forsil RTRW Tasikmalaya, Deden Tazdad Hubban, delivered a series of strategic proposals to the Mayor of Tasikmalaya via an open letter dated Monday, September 14, 2026.

One of the main focal points is the need to install CCTV at vulnerable spots and strategic locations that are currently not under surveillance.

Deden stated that the presence of surveillance cameras is considered crucial to enhance monitoring and expedite response in the event of criminal acts.

“As a strategic government partner on the front line, we believe concrete and collaborative steps are needed,” Deden told Radar on Wednesday (16/9/2026).

He believes CCTV can be directed toward areas considered prone to crime or where crowds gather. In this way, supervision does not rely solely on the presence of officers in the field.

Because relying solely on patrols across the vast urban area is like hoping a single pair of eyes can monitor every corner of the city.

In addition to CCTV, Forsil RTRW also proposes revitalizing the community security system (Siskamling) through a city‑wide Pos Kamling competition in Tasikmalaya.

Deden believes the program can serve as an incentive to rekindle the community’s spirit of mutual cooperation in maintaining environmental security.

Forsil RTRW hopes that the Tasikmalaya City Government provides sufficient and attractive appreciation or prizes for the winners.

It is not merely a ceremonial competition; the activity is expected to encourage community participation in safeguarding their respective neighborhoods.

“In order to reignite the community’s spirit of mutual cooperation in protecting the environment” is one of the reasons Forsil RTRW proposed the program.

Another proposal is to give awards to security personnel who excel in maintaining public order in Tasikmalaya City.

Deden suggested that the City Government award members of the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP, and Linmas who are deemed to have excelled in exposing immorality, vice, and criminal acts.

The forms of appreciation proposed include promotion to a higher rank, certificates of achievement, and other material rewards as a token of gratitude from the city’s residents.
