TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The alleged assault on a teenage jasuke vendor in Tasikmalaya city has drawn serious concern from religious leaders.
They express concern over the victim’s condition, who is reportedly in critical condition at Hermina Hospital.
The victim has been identified as Ikrom Maulana Malik (16), a resident of Lewimalang, Bantarsari Village, Bungursari District, Tasikmalaya City.

Ikrom is suspected of being assaulted by a group of individuals believed to be motorcycle gang members.
The incident took place on Jalan Ir H Juanda, in front of the former Cilembang Terminal, Tasikmalaya city, on Sunday (30/8/2026) at around 04.00 WIB.
As a result of the event, Ikrom sustained serious head injuries. As of Wednesday (2/9/2026), the victim is reported to still be unconscious.
Subsequently, the incident captured public attention after a video surfaced on social media. In the video, Ikrom can be seen lying down with his head covered in blood.
Some of the victim’s friends attempted to provide assistance by carrying Ikrom’s body.
The recording also captured a voice questioning the location of the incident and suggesting that the victim was attacked by a gang group.
The situation drew scrutiny from Tasikmalaya’s religious scholars, including KH Yan-Yan Al Bayani, S.Kom.I., M.Pd., who expressed concern and urged law enforcement officials to promptly uncover the case.

“We share concern over the misfortune that befell the jasuke vendor, who is believed to have fallen victim to the brutality of a motorcycle gang near the former Cilembang Terminal,” he said.
In his view, the alleged violence case should not be allowed to drag on. The police are urged to conduct a comprehensive investigation to identify all those involved.
“We demand that law enforcement agencies thoroughly investigate this case, identify and apprehend the perpetrators involved, and process them according to applicable legal provisions,” he asserted.
In addition to requesting the case to be investigated, religious leaders also urged security authorities to enhance patrols, especially in areas deemed vulnerable to criminal activity.
Patrols are considered essential to provide a sense of security to residents who remain active during the night and early morning hours.
Religious figures also called on the Tasikmalaya City Government to strengthen surveillance systems in public spaces. One measure deemed necessary is to increase the installation of surveillance cameras or CCTV at various high-risk locations.
