TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com– A mother’s wish for her child’s safe return turned into dread after Ikrom Maulana Malik, a 16‑year‑old from Lewimalang, Bantarsari village, Bungursari district, Tasikmalaya city, is suspected of being assaulted by a motorcycle gang.

Ikrom, who sells jasuke (corn cheese) on the street, suffered serious head trauma. He is still in intensive care at Hermina Tasikmalaya Hospital, where doctors have classified his condition as critical.

The attack occurred on Jalan Ir H Juanda, in front of the former Cilembang terminal area, Tasikmalaya, on Sunday (30/8/2026) around 04.00 WIB.

Word of the incident spread on social media. A video shows Ikrom lying motionless with blood covering his head, while friends attempt to help and carry him.

In the footage, a voice asks about the location of the event and suggests that the victim was attacked by a gang.

For the family the event is devastating. Mother Meli Widiawati is still trying to understand what really happened to her son.

Meli said that before the incident, Ikrom had just finished watching a music performance in the Cilembang area after work and had been with friends.

However, the family still does not know the exact chain of events that caused Ikrom’s severe injuries.

“At that moment my child was at the front and wasn’t wearing a helmet. I think the victim was hit on the middle of his head with a stone or wooden block,” Meli said when met at Hermina Hospital on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

Because Ikrom’s condition remains critical, Meli stays at the hospital, hoping for a positive change. According to her, doctors say Ikrom is extremely weak at present.

Amid worries about her child’s safety, Meli also has to think about the ever‑increasing cost of care.

“Now my child’s condition is critical. I am also confused about the cost of my child’s treatment. By the second day of care, the hospital bill had reached around Rp17 million. I am now relying on processing a Certificate of Inability (SKTM) for administrative purposes,” she said.
