The forthcoming PSYREN anime has unveiled a fresh trailer, a key visual, and additional cast members in the lead‑up to its October 5, 2026 launch. It was earlier confirmed that the production will adapt the entire storyline. The series will be available on Crunchyroll for most of the world, with Japan and Russia excluded (IVI will handle distribution in Russia).
The principal voice talent features Rikuya Yasuda portraying Ageha Yoshina, the lead, and Mayuko Kazama as Sakurako Amamiya. They are joined by Shunsuke Takeuchi in the role of Hiryu Asaga, Soma Saito as Oboro Mochizuki, and Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kabuto Kirisaki. Two new cast members were revealed today:
- Yuhko Kaida as Matsuri Yagumo, Sakurako Amamiya’s mentor
- Nobuyuki Hiyama as Dolkey, a foe opposing Ageha and his allies
The voice actors commented on their roles:
I’m Yuhko Kaida, the voice of Matsuri Yagumo. Just seeing the trailer fills me with excitement! Recording has been a blast, collaborating with an incredible team and talented cast. Though Matsuri enjoys her drinks, she’s also a reliable, big‑sister figure, and I’m really enjoying bringing her to life. After almost 15 years, Ageha and company’s adventure is finally beginning. Let’s explore the mysteries of PSYREN together!
The PSYREN manga was first published a long time ago, and after many years it’s finally receiving an anime adaptation. The series’ impact is truly palpable! Dolkey, the role I voice, is essentially a classic villain. I love portraying such characters and could dive deep into his clashes with the heroes. I hope viewers enjoy witnessing his antagonistic side in action!
The theme song “WARNING!!” is performed by the three‑piece group CLAN QUEEN!, and a snippet can be heard in the freshly released trailer.
The main staff for the anime includes:
- Original Work by Toshiaki Iwashiro (published by Shueisha)
- Director Katsumi Ono
- Series Composition Shin Yoshida
- Character Design Akira Okuma
- Music Takashi Ohmama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Shu Kanematsu
- Animation Studio SATELIGHT
AOi from CLAN QUEEN commented:
I was honored to compose “WARNING!!” for PSYREN. I’m very thankful for the chance to contribute music to this highly anticipated anime. The song was conceived as a drive to push past limits and keep reaching out, even as warning signals blare inside you. Ultimately, it’s a track where every sound erupts with raw power. Enjoy our creation.
The series is described as follows:
One day, high school student Ageha Yoshina discovers a strange “red phone card” abandoned in a public phone booth. A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya—who also had the same card—vanishes without a trace. Searching for her, Ageha becomes entangled in a wave of nationwide disappearances rumored to be orchestrated by a covert group called “Psyren.” Upon contacting the organization, he finds himself thrust into a lethal contest that will reshape his destiny.
There’s also a solid argument explaining why this manga has long warranted an anime adaptation.
