PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com – The Chairman of the West Java Democratic Party and a member of the Indonesian Parliament, Anton Sukartono Suratto, paid a visit to the home of former Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti on Thursday evening (27/8/2026). Their conversation led to a planned joint initiative.
The encounter was cordial and informal. They talked about a wide range of subjects, from politics and development to local opportunities.
Anton came to Pangandaran as part of a working trip that also included a motorcycle tour across several West Java regions, such as Pangandaran Regency.

Anton explained that he and Susi discussed multiple topics, including the Democratic Party’s ongoing Blue Sky Movement program.
“We reached out to community leaders in West Java, and since Mrs. Susi is one of them, we visited her residence and were warmly welcomed,” he told reporters.
He noted that the Blue Sky program pursued by the Democrats shares common ground with Susi Pudjiastuti’s ongoing environmental efforts, particularly in protecting and preserving marine ecosystems.
“We talked about Pangandaran and its potential, and we have the Blue Sky program. It turns out Mrs. Susi has been doing similar work for a long time,” he remarked.
Anton praised Susi’s initiatives that engage school children in marine cleanup activities as a commendable model that could be expanded through partnership. “Many elementary school students are gathered to clean up the sea. Today it’s this school, tomorrow that one,” he said.
Consequently, Anton expressed his willingness to collaborate with Susi Pudjiastuti on various social and environmental projects. “The key point is that we may collaborate in the future. Whatever good Mrs. Susi has done, we will do as well,” he stated.
On that occasion, Anton also extended a political invitation to the former marine minister, encouraging a stronger political relationship between Susi and the Democratic Party in the future.

“We are open to the possibility that any of her family members, relatives, or friends might want to join the Democratic Party; we would welcome them gladly,” he added.
